Misty's
Song
(Terri
L. Onorato)
I hear a strong
wind blowing
the last remnants
of a storm,
and I remember how
you used to shake
in such fear of
thundering noise.
When I'd comfort
you and tell you,
that "everything
will be okay."
you looked at me
quite doubtful
but by my side you'd
stay.
Now the storms no
longer frighten you
for the Heavens
hold no fear.
You lounge above
the darkening clouds
and whisper in my
ear...
You tell me that
at Rainbow Bridge
there is no pain
to feel,
the storms they
do not haunt you,
you are well and
you are healed.
In my dreams you
visit
and allow me one
request.
To touch your coat,
feel your strength
and your face, a
soft caress.
The dream is nearly
over
though just a fleeting
moment passed,
the memory lingers
in my heart
and forever I am
blessed.
The winds are calming
down now
time for you to
go back Home,
as the wind chimes
play a melody
so aptly titled
"Misty's Song".
