Four-Feet

"THE WOMAN IN HIS LIFE"

I have done mostly what most men do,
And pushed it out of my mind;
But I can't forget, if I wanted to,
Four-Feet trotting behind.

Day after day, the whole day through --
Wherever my road inclined --
Four-feet said, "I am coming with you!"
And trotted along behind.

Now I must go by some other round, --
Which I shall never find --
Somewhere that does not carry the sound
Of Four-Feet trotting behind.

A GIFT FROM GOD.

I did not have too many friends,
at least until I met the lord.
But even then I could not get a hug,
until I crossed through heavens door.

But by his grace and love he gave
me something to pass the time.
Until the day where I would be with him,
he put two rottweiler's by my side.

As my walk with God has gone on,
my rotties set the pace.
Reminding me of my good fortune
and Gods endless grace.

My human friends have increased too,
but they just do not compare.
For hugs just aren't as special,
unless they leave some hair.
