~ Seasons of Life ~
When the wind blows so gentle and sweet,
Can you see his coat move as he lies at your feet?
And as the sun shines with its golden hue,
Can you see his coat glisten with gold in it to?
Even fall brings vivid colors to view,
The leaves on the ground, he’s among them to.
And in winter our world turned white with the snow,
He’s there to, his muzzle white with age he now shows.
The seasons of life, we take so for granted,
Not a thought of losing a soul so enchanted.
For why should we miss a soul not yet gone,
As we don’t want to think about being alone.
But should life follow its path normally,
They’ll be only memories left, for you and for me.
To etch in our hearts with the senses we know,
The sound of his bark, the feel, the smell of his coat
and the sight of him then running to and fro.
Then when life’s seasons have made their claim,
We can call him back when we whisper his name.
And when the wind blows so gentle and sweet,
Can you see his coat move as he lay’s at your feet?
And as the sun shines with its golden hue,
Can you see his coat glisten with gold in it to?
Even fall brings vivid colors to view,
The leaves on the ground, he’s among them to.
And in winter our world turned white with the snow,
He’s there to, his muzzle white with age he now shows.
For they never leave our souls and our minds
As we hold so tight to the love that still shines.
Life’s seasons will come and then they will go….
But our memories we’ll cherish….for then comes the snow.

ODE TO A GRADUATE
Hup up all you students now be on your way
And don't forget to give your dogs a hug every day,
Love, affection, discipline, too;
These are some things that will help your dog work for you.
Obedience and grooming need to be done each day,
Lots of work with your dogs is the better way;
Consistency's the key to real success
So when you're with your dogs try to be at your best.
"Check your dog,", "Correct your dog,"
"Know where it is at all times,"
These are some phrases we heard each day
that were repeated in lectures at night.
The trainer that taught us had a wealth of knowledge
which had nothing to do with going to college;
A love for dogs and people, too
caused the many things taught us to ring loud, clear and true.
He was kind, understanding and gentle, too;
Any criticism he offered was bound to help you;
His enthusiasm toward teaching and encouraging remarks
added interest in learning and a willingness to work hard.
The times we shared will be treasured through the years
for when we said so long, I shed many tears;
All the things he taught us we'll never forget,
The phrases, do's and don'ts and we'll try to do our best.
Hup up all you students now be on your way
And don't forget to give your dogs a hug everyday;
Love, Affection and discipline, too,
These are some of the things that will help your dog work for you.
