I am just a little dog-
"Pepper" is my name;
Tho' not pedigreed nor grand,
I got feelings just the same.
In The Bulletin for an age
Folks say dog is a pest,
But we only bark to warn
Ones we love the best.
We can't talk like people can,
Still we have our joys,
When we're glad and happy,
We just make a noise.
The time I bark the loudest
Is when the boss comes home.
He is sure to bring candy,
Or maybe a juicy bone.
So don't be hard on us poor dogs,
For we all serve you true,
And God gave us our lives to live
The same as He has you.
