THERE IS A PLACE

"There is a place, a special place,  where there are no wants,
needs,
pain, disease or death... It is a place where there is no war or
hate,
jealousy or anger.

When a dog's soul leaves this existance, their spirit flies to
this place.
You won't find it on any map, there are no pictures of it to
look at.
Sometimes on a rainy day during a sun-shower, you can see the
portal to this place lit up in spectacular colors. If you  run
quickly,
you might just be able to see the bridge at the end of the
nearest rainbow,
where all of our dog friends await the time when
we can join them,  for all eternity as one spirit."

 POI

My friend of 18 years is gone, this time where I can't follow,
no more his velvet paw or saphire eyes.
My tears fall on the fresh-turned earth, I find it hard to
swallow,
I never really felt that he could die.
They said, "It's best to do it now, he'll suffer in the end,"
and so a needle stilled his loving heart.
But mine still beats, and I still cry, if mercy killed my friend,
why do I feel I played a Judas part?
I hope his soul awoke in someone's lap who'll love and pet him,
that he'll have sun and grass to nibble on.
My pain will ease in time, and yet I know I won't forget him,
or ever cease to mourn that he is gone.
