- Ruby Dog –
The stars are brighter out tonight
And I see one especially bright.
My Ruby Dog went home today,
I’m sure that’s her star on display.
Her spirit free to run with the angels,
Her coat flowing, her eyes full of spangles!
She had such spirit with a heart so tender,
I hope she knows how much I miss her!
A precious Pom, my Ruby Dog,
‘ole, Snaggle-puss, she’d hear me call.
In my heart I can see her answer,
Spinning before me, my little dancer.
I’ll keep her memory close in my heart
The years we shared to precious to part.
If time were forever, it’s still not enough,
To lose someone special is always so tough.
Our special friends are precious and few
When they are lost they take part of us to.
She gave so much to me in her life,
Right by my side through troubles and strifes.
It was my privilege to be owned by her.
Heaven is richer with her there I’m sure.
The pain I feel now will soften with time
For the memories she left are forever mine.
My Ruby Dog, my Snaggle-puss, my little old lady,
As long as I breathe in my heart you will stay.
Tho your spirit has flown no good-byes will I
say,
For precious memories I hold, just a heartbeat
away.
Words fall so short at times like this
When we try so hard our pain to express.
Ruby knows how much she meant to me,
So I’ll take comfort in knowing from pain she’s
now free
And in my heart cherish her precious memory.
I love you Snaggle-puss –

“Gentle Whispers”
They visit us deep in our minds,
These little souls who left us behind.
We keep them deep inside our hearts,
Sweet memories of which we’ll never part.
In quiet times we bring them to mind,
Each memory is one of a kind.
A treasure chest full of gems shining bright,
Thoughts of them give us peace in the night.
They’re waiting for us somewhere in the blue,
When God sees fit to make us all new.
In the land where there’s no sorrow, sickness
or pain
With all our loved ones we’ll unite again.
The pets who have shared our lives in the past
Still hold our hearts tight in their clasp.
Our souls they touched with their complete trust
And unquestionable love, they gave to us.
At times we can feel their presence so close,
Just out of our reach, our little ghosts.
Our eyes sting with tears for that fleeting moment
Is here and then gone before we can comment.
The sadness we feel can’t overcome
The lessons of life we learned from each one.
The lessons they taught of love is so simple,
The love of a child, a prime example.
They’re still with us, these souls who are gone,
Deep in our hearts they will live on.
They’re still around us wherever we look,
All through the house every cranny and crook.
Tho’ our eyes and ears may play tricks,
Did I see, did I hear, did I move that stick?
Is it mind over matter, we really don’t care,
It does our hearts good to feel they are there.
It’s the “absence of presence” that causes our
pain,
Yet our hearts and our minds let us see them
again.
But for a moment, a moment to treasure,
They touch our souls with their gentle whispers.
