That Crazy Old Woman!
They call me “eccentric”, that crazy old woman
Who prefers the company of dogs to that of a human.
What they don’t know but is obvious to me
Their love is priced high but from dogs it is free.
If you do something that your humans don’t like,
They tell you so and sometimes with spite!
With dogs it’s different, they really don’t care,
All they ask you your love with them to share.
You can tell them your secrets and know they won’t gossip
Whereas with humans it’s quite the opposite!
They don’t criticize our hair or our dress,
No matter our look they think we’re the best.
To feed them is easy, dog food and fresh water,
Not hours over the stove and hours cleaning after!
If we choose to be silly, they just join in,
They love to play games, whatever your whim!
No having to account for each move that you make,
No jealousy, no reasons to have to relate.
I guess you can call me that crazy old woman
Who prefers the company of dogs to that of a human.
When I’m depressed or just feeling lonely
No humans for comfort, I see my dogs only.
In times of grief and my hearts ripped in two,
Its my dogs by my side, I never see you!
So to me it’s ok if you call me crazy,
With my dogs I’m happy to be that eccentric old lady!!

We’ll Meet Again
When we meet again it will be so sweet,
We’ll walk together down Heaven’s golden street.
We’ll lounge on a cloud, so fluffy, so white
And count all the stars we see in the night.
Maybe fly to the moon and check it to see
If the stories are true that it’s made of cheese.
And if it is we’ll take a few bites,
Leave half a moon to shine in the night.
We’ll chase each other through heavens so clear,
Try not to run over those we come near.
Fly under storm clouds and dodge lightning bolts,
They used to scare us but now they’re just jokes.
Oh how wonderful is the Heaven I see
When once again by my side you will be.
To again be strong as we were in our youth,
To know forever love lives in truth.
The peace we will know and to know time can’t destroy,
The love, the trust between us, my precious boy.
It’s a recurring dream I have quite often,
A happy dream and my loneliness it softens.
And when on earth my days become bleak
And it’s my turn Heavens gate to seek.
I won’t fear the darkness for your trail remains
To lead me to you where…..we’ll meet again!

All That I Am
I have two eyes with which I can see
This wondrous world God gave to us free.
I have two ears with which I can hear
The sounds of nature all ‘round us so clear.
I have a mouth with which I can eat
The food of life that tastes so sweet.
I have a nose with which I can smell
Scents in the earth it holds so well.
I have a mind with which I can think
Even the power for our minds to link.
I have a back, which has the strength
To carry your burdens to any length.
I have a tail with which to wave
And acknowledge the happiness you just gave.
I have four legs with which I can run
As fast as the wind when you say the word “come”.
I have a fur coat with which to stay warm
That feels soft to you against your arm.
But more than the rest I have a heart
Bursting with love for you since our start.
To you I give everything that I am
To serve only you in my short life span.
Happiness for me is to share my existence
With one who loves me with such persistence.
All that I am, I give freely to you
In return all I ask is you love me to.
My life, my donation should yours be in peril,
My steps follow yours, by your side ever faithful.
You have my trust, my faith and my love,
You have everything I am, a gift from above.
